YOUR ROLE IN THE YPT FAMILY

As a registered charity, our donors play an important role in our operations. Ticket sales and government funding account for half of our annual operating revenue; YPT relies on our key supporters— individuals, business and family foundations for a crucial 30% of our yearly revenue.

YOUR DONATION AT WORK

Without us in Toronto, the majority of work created for children would be seen only in school gyms, limited run festivals or commercial settings. If we didn’t exist, someone would have to invent us!

Your donation will support accessibility for disadvantaged children and families and allow us to stage the very best theatre for young audiences in Canada through our outstanding education and participation programmes:

Pay-What-You-Can Performances (PWYC)

With the generous assistance of Sun Life Financial, YPT is offering PWYC performances for ALL its productions this season. Tickets are available at the Box Office on the day of selected performances, with a suggested minimum contribution of $5 per ticket (cash only please). Check the calendar for PWYC dates.

Connections: Addressing the pattern of poverty

There is empirical evidence that children who live in poverty are at greater risk of dropping out of school. Studies have also proven that exposure to the Arts improves scholastic ability and attendance. Thanks to the generosity of CIBC World Markets Children's Foundation and many other donors, YPT can offer special subsidized tickets to ALL its productions this season.

Arts Impact: Making a difference in the lives of inner city students

YPT is proud to have Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life as lead sponsors for its Arts Impact program, which provides disadvantaged students with an opportunity to participate in quality arts education. The goal of Arts Impact is to deepen students' understanding of theatre, allowing them to be inspired by the material presented on stage and to think in ways that challenge their own perceptions.
