Forty-six years ago, Susan Rubes founded Young People's Theatre (YPT) because she believed that children deserve a professional theatre of their own equal to adult theatre. She believed that young people deserve good theatre because theatre is good for young people. YPT’s Adventurers believe in the need for YPT and wish to support the vision of Artistic Director Allen MacInnis in significant ways.
Gifts to YPT can be directed to support many active areas of the theatre: from new play development projects, to providing scholarships and subsidies to make our Drama School and performance tickets accessible to all young people, to supporting the ground-breaking Education and Participation projects we carry out across the GTA, our Adventurers enable YPT to continue to grow and engage more and more young people in quality arts education experiences.
